How Frequently Should You Add New Content to Your Website?
When was the last time you posted a new blog? Or updated the information on your services pages? When was the last time you logged into your Google My Business?
You have heard us say it before, many times, fresh regular content is an important part of a healthy and successful website.
But how regular do you need to be? And why is it important at all?
Let’s take a look….
Channel your inner blogger
Ok so, first off, let’s talk about your blog.
If you are a business owner and you are writing your blogs yourself, let’s be realistic… you probably aren’t going to be able to smash out multiple high-quality blogs every week. You have a business to run, employees to look after and a life outside of work… hopefully!
So if a weekly blog isn’t achievable right now, how about a monthly blog. Is it as effective as having multiple blogs a week going live? No… but it’s a lot better than no blogs.
The main thing to remember here is, if you are limited to one blog a month, make it a great one!
Talk about the niche service you provide that your competitors don’t. Showcase the positive work you are doing for your local community. Share your big wins! And avoid ‘fluff’ at all costs!
Blogs are great at improving your rankings for keywords in search engines. So if you are a bike repair warehouse and you offer E-Bike services but you notice that you aren’t ranking very high in Google for E-Bike services in your area… write a blog about how great your E-Bike services are! Talk about how you’re the only warehouse in the area that offer these services and talk about the benefits of regular maintenance!
Then, if you want to go the extra mile, share that blog with local electric vehicle bloggers, green commuters and cycling enthusiasts and get yourself some valuable backlinks!
Make sure your info is correct
Now, this is going to sound obvious, but you would be surprised how many websites have out of date information on them.
Have you moved offices? Changed your email provider? Updated your business phone number? Maybe your team has changed, perhaps someone has left.
It is important to keep this information up-to-date so that you aren’t missing out on any enquiries!
Get the most out of your Google My Business
Too often do we see businesses not getting the most out of their Google My Business.
It is so much more than just a place to have your address and contact information.
Get your FAQs posted, interact with customers asking questions, thank people for their reviews, post content, keep your images up to date and you will build a Google My Business listing that stands out, that shows potential new customers that your business is alive and active!
And that is it for this time!
Keeping your web presence up to date and posting regular content is a key aspect of your website’s success.
