Five Tips to Fix Your SEO
Is your SEO health not up to scratch? Well, we are here to help… here are our five tips for improving your website health!
Right, ok, so you have your shiny website, it looks great and most importantly, it chocked full of great, relevant information for your potential customers….
But hang on… no one seems to be visiting, let alone making any purchases/ enquiries/ sign-ups.
What’s the problem?
If you aren’t getting the traffic you need, then the first place you should be looking is your SEO!
Number 1 – Site speed
Ok, go to your website, right now, on a device you haven’t used to look at it before. Load up a page… how long did that take to load?
Any more than a couple of seconds and you could have potentially lost half your audience right then and there.
The citizens of the internet have short, short, short attention spans… if they are left waiting at the door even for a moment… then they are out of there!
If your site is taking too long to load, then try reducing the size of your media. If you have any videos, why not host them on YouTube or Vimeo? This will take the pressure off your website!
Number 2 – Key Words
So you have probably heard the term key words about a million times… and you’re probably sick to death of hearing about them.
But if your website isn’t ranking where you need it to be. It’s time to start thinking about the keywords and phrases that are important to your business.
Get a short list together and then make sure that they are regularly mentioned in your website copy, site titles and metadata.
There are no shortcuts, cheats or hacks with this one. Google is onto you… keyword dumps have not worked for years… no, not even if they are transparent! Make sure your copy is providing your visitors with the best experience possible!
Number 3 – Get the padlock
Not having a secure website may have been ok five years ago… but it’s not anymore.
Every year Google penalises non-secure sites more and more.
If you don’t know how to lock in that padlock, give us a shout, we can help make your website fast and secure!
Number 4 – Write regular blogs
Yes, this one is a commitment but one of the best ways to get more keywords and search terms on your site is to write about what you do.
Your services, your experience, previous work, frequently asked question, industry news.
Chances are you know a lot about what you do, sharing that knowledge benefits your audience and guess what… it will boost your SEO too!
Finally Number 5 – Talk to an expert
Realistically, if you’re running a business, you aren’t going to have time to sink hours of work into your SEO health.
