How Often Should You Post On Social Media

“How often should I post on social media?”

This is still the most common question I get asked. So let’s put it to bed.

Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn – once a day.

(Twitter is 15 times a day, which is why Codebreak doesn’t recommend Twitter unless you’re a celeb, author, journalist, etc. I mean 15 tweets a day?!)

That’s from research collated from 14 different studies into optimal posting frequency.

The question is usually asked because the business owner wants to make more sales and they’re wondering whether posting more on social media will do that.

No, it won’t.

The fact is, most business owners don’t know what they’re getting from their organic social media posts now. So what would the measurable results be from posting more? And what difference would they make to your bottom line?

More likes. So what?

More reach. So what?

And who would these people be anyway?!  

More likes and more reach won’t put food on the table.

The answer to real social media success is social media advertising, not social media posting.

No doubt, you knew I was going to say that!

But with ads, you can be targeted and measure outcomes that move the needle. You can see how many leads / enquiries / appointments / sales your social media ads are generating (if they’re set up and managed correctly).

If, for whatever reason, you choose not to run ads, the best advice I can give you about organic posting is to focus on QUALITY over quantity.
