How To Protect Your Database
Joel and I have been up in Glasgow for a conference. Met some awesome, super successful people.
One guy was gently-spoken, modest and cool… and it turned out he had half a million Instagram followers. Half a million! A genuine influencer.
There were a few of them, to be honest. And they all did one thing when it came to their marketing:
They captured email addresses.
No matter how big their following, they were TAKING CONTROL.
I can think of a tonne of businesses who’d be b*ggered if Instagram shut down their account. Or Facebook. Or their website crashed.
My own mentor uses Instagram Live a lot for his business. But he’s come foul of Instagram somehow and he’s temporarily banned from running Lives.
It’s hurting his business a bit but not much. Why? Because he’s got 30,000 email addresses in his database (and 17,000 mobile numbers).
