With Great Email Marketing, Comes Great Responsibility!

You’ve been bit by COVID-19. I get it. We all have. But coming from your friendly neighbourhood Marketing-Man, now is not the time to stop.

I know, you’re snowed under at the moment, you’ve got a million and one things to think about. Made worse by the fact that you’re probably having to do tasks you never imagined you’d get dragged back into because of the current environment.

That doesn’t mean you stop being consistent with your email marketing though. I mean, what would Uncle Ben say?

Keep spinning your web

You’re probably the sort of business that’s been quite consistent with your marketing.

I mean, if you’re reading this, you’ve probably got a keen interest in marketing.

You’re used to contacting your database, getting in touch with your prospects and staying in touch with your clients. And that’s something you really need to keep on top of at the moment.

So, think about it from a client-side or prospect-side. They want to know that your business is still active, that you’re still involved and what you’re doing to plan for the future.

You should be planning for future success too, not just for survival. I know that’s a hard thing to hear at the moment. Believe me, I’m in the same place. But you really need to think about how you can use this time effectively to plan for your future success.

Think about how you can streamline your business? How can you stay in touch with your database? What steps can you take to make sure your clients are being serviced properly whilst all this is going on?

Now is the time to ensure you can hit the ground running on the other side of this. So, make sure you’re emailing your database consistently.

You’ve gotta make a choice

We always do a Marketing Monday that goes out to our entire database. You might choose to do a Top Tips Tuesday, whatever it might be. Then, give people an excuse to get back in touch; using a call of action in your emails is a great way to get people to engage with you.

You could ask them a question, you could bring up something you know is relevant to their industry, you could offer a competition.

Whatever it is, let’s get the engagement going, pull people in and show your human side.

Show who’s behind the mask

At the moment, there’s millions of people going through hardship and you need to show that you’re empathetic to their scenario. Your business might be doing really well, but you still can show empathy to them, show them how you can help and add value.

Don’t show them how you can just take from them. No one wants to see people profiteering from pain at the moment. Don’t be the person who is hoarding hand sanitizer and trying to sell it on eBay, no one wants that.

Just make sure you’re keeping people informed of what’s going on, be helpful and be consistent.

So, what’s it going to be?

Choose a day, choose your timing, get really into the routine of sending those emails and then just keep it going and keep informing your audience, that’s the key point you can take from this blog post today.
