Three Questions You Should Ask Your Marketing Agency Before Parting With Your Cash!

We get it. Everyone has that same worry. What if this doesn’t work? What if all this money is completely wasted?

Well the good news is, we don’t do worry here at Codebreak. We do excitement. That’s how you should feel about working with a marketing agency!

To help with your worry and get you ready to rock and roll, I’m going to teach you three questions to ask your agency before making that buying decision.

Armed with these three enquiries, you’ll soon be able to tell if you’ve made the right decision.

Question one – How much experience does your team have?

What sort of campaigns have they run before? What brands have they worked with? It is vital you ask how experienced they are. You don’t want to work with an agency who is doing this for the first time.

Nor do you want to work with an agency who has never worked on this kind of scale. This is a good way to find out if they have specialists in their team, experts that can handle the different parts of your campaign.

Andy and I have a combined 40 years’ experience in the industry and that’s without adding in our team.

Question two – Do you have any case studies or testimonials for similar work?

An experienced agency will have multiple case studies and testimonials based on their successes from the past. They’ll be happy to share them with you and explain how they achieved those results.

Reputable agencies will be able to point to video testimonials and case studies on their website.

Questions three – How do you communicate progress and results?

All agencies should have a system for communication with their clients. A place to share ideas and showcase results. You need to know who your point of contact is, where to find them and how you’ll be supported when that contact is on annual leave.

At Codebreak we share details of our client-specific, private online groups, our client support process, and the frequency of face-to-face (or Zoom) catch-ups. These are written into the proposal.

So, to summarise…

– Ask about experience
– Ask for case studies or testimonials to prove it
– Ask how they’ll stay in touch throughout the process

With those three simple questions, you’ll have a much better feel for if you’re dealing with the real deal or a bunch of charlatans.
