We bought stuff from big businesses and have already had email follow-ups. Saying hello again, asking for a review, etc. 

We bought stuff from small businesses and have heard b*gger-all.

Anyway, I’ve talked about email marketing a lot. But if you’re not communicating with people via email regularly, you’re missing out. 

(Don’t let businesses that are using email wrong put you off.)

Let’s talk “old school” marketing

Why? Because it’s good to be where your competitors aren’t.


Direct mail.

Picking up the phone.

The first one, especially. Whether that’s traditional networking meetings, attending expos or being a part of a business community.

Yes, the ever-changing C*vid situation has put the kibosh on many face-to-face things, but that’s where Zoom and webinars come in. Not exactly old school but webinars especially are not being utilised because they require a bit of effort and planning, God forbid.

You’ll be seeing more free webinars happening in 2022, for sure.

C*vid certainly hasn’t affected direct mail or the humble telephone.

Who’s getting stuff from you in the post? Something exciting that will stand out amongst the bills.

You’ll enjoy a 100% open rate too. You won’t find that in many places.

How many prospects are you talking to on the phone? Or are you trying to do everything over email like everyone else?
