I love my dogs.

If you read my stuff, you’ll know that my dogs (and my giant cats) are a big part of my life.

But they are bl00dy hard work…!

Owning a dog is a responsibility. Going away even just for one day requires planning and, often, money.

I went into dog ownership with my eyes wide open.

But you wouldn’t believe how many people get a dog… then seem surprised how difficult it can be. They whine and moan and blame everyone apart from themselves. Some even end up giving up their dog.

Here’s the thing – complaining about something you’ve chosen to do in business is a quick route to waving growth goodbye.

People might make sympathetic sounds on social media when you’re venting, but the reality is you’ll be seen as a victim.

To be clear – admitting vulnerability online is fine… if you’re offering a solution, which may help someone struggling with the same thing.

But simply going on about how tough / unfair something is – is a different kettle of fish.

This isn’t talking to your mates down the pub. This is business.

My question today is – if an ideal prospect were to glance through your socials, will they see a hero or a victim? 

Because they’ll only entrust their money to a hero.
